Synopsis:
Wren Caswell is average. Ranked in the middle of her class at Sacred Heart, she’s not popular, but not a social misfit. Wren is the quiet, “good” girl who's always done what she's supposed to—only now in her junior year, this passive strategy is backfiring. She wants to change, but doesn’t know how.
Grayson Barrett was the king of St. Gabe’s. Star of the lacrosse team, top of his class, on a fast track to a brilliant future—until he was expelled for being a “term paper pimp.” Now Gray is in a downward spiral and needs to change, but doesn’t know how.
One fateful night their paths cross when Wren, working at her family’s Arthurian-themed catering hall, performs the Heimlich on Gray as he chokes on a cocktail weenie, saving his life literally and figuratively. What follows is the complicated, awkward, hilarious, and tender tale of two teens shedding their pasts, figuring out who they are—and falling in love.

I've been on a YA contemporary kick lately and have been snatching up as many books in this genre as possible. There's just something about them that makes me happy, probably because most of them end on a good note and aren't parts of a series. Not that I don't love series, I do, but sometimes when I finish a book I want just that, to be finished. No more waiting around a year to read the next installment. I know what happens to the characters and they aren't going to be torn back apart by who knows what. I get plenty of that in dystopians. I like sitting down with these and reading about people who go through the same crap we all go through and seeing how they make it work. They are perfect for when you need a pick me up!
What about you? Are you waiting on anything special this week? Leave me a link and I'll come check it out!
Contemporary is definitely my go-to genre and this book looks so adorable. I cannot wait to read it. Great pick!

I've been on a YA contemporary quick the past few weeks too. This one sounds really cute plus I love the idea of Wren's family owning an Arthurian-themed catering hall. Definitely adding this to my list! Thanks for sharing.
