Because I had taken a week off from blogging over the Christmas break, I have two weeks of Weigh Me Wednesdays to report.
Week 5:
Week five was a crazy busy week for me. We had last minute Christmas shopping to do, and I also had three (3!) Christmas dinners to attend. I was worried how these were going to affect my weight loss journey with Nutrisystem. I have to be honest and admit that I did eat regular food at all three of these dinners, but I did not overdo it! That was my biggest concern, having so many yummy foods to choose from and just going crazy. Having Nutrisystem meals for breakfast and lunch on these days really helped me keep to my goals and only eat small portions at dinner. While their food portions aren't huge, they are filling. This helped me keep control. And guess what? I lost a pound! I guess all that running around really helped knock off those extra calories!
Week 6:
Week 6 was much different. It was much easier to keep to the Nutrisystem plan because I was pretty much snowed in all week long. My children were on vacation from school, and that meant I slept in late. I didn't get as much exercise in as I would have liked, but I did manage to get some. And guess what, I lost another pound! YES!!!
Even though I'm not dropping the pounds as fast as I hoped, I still think Nutrisystem is the right choice for me. As long as I stick to the meal plan and get in my exercise, I have been steadily losing a pound a week. If I do it for a year, that's 50 pounds! Not only am I losing the weight I so desperately need to shed, but Nutrisystem also helps me keep my diabetes under control. The meals are specially designed for those with diabetes and I can be sure that I am eating the right amount of food with the right amount of calories. Before Nutrisystem, I was having a very hard time finding the right foods to eat and at what time of day. I am so thankful to Nutrisystem for their super easy meal plan that shows me exactly what I should be eating and when.
It is a new year now and a new start. While most people are talking about their resolutions, I have to tell you that I am not making any. Why, you ask? Because everyone knows that 90% of resolutions aren't kept. Instead of putting a goal and limit on myself, I am taking things one day at a time. I will not set myself up to fail by becoming upset or depressed if I don't make a self-imposed goal at certain times. Weight loss is something that fluctuates and needs to happen at a steady pace. I don't want to rush into it and become unhealthy. I will lose this weight at a healthy and steady rate and at the pace that is right for me.
So what is my hope for next week?
Next week I am hoping to report in with a loss of two pounds. I am going to step up my exercise routine (especially now since we have new Wii games!) and just keep moving forward.
Remember to stop by next week for Week 7's results!
