I woke up this morning to find an email saying that someone changed the email address and password on my Twitter account. It wasn't me. I have sent Twitter an email about it and hopefully they will be able to do something but it doesn't look good. It says in their auto-response email that they are unable to change passwords or email addresses. So basically because I don't know the email address associated with my account, I can't use my account anymore. There goes all the hard work I've done over the last two years. I had 4000+ followers that I will probably never get back. My question to you is: has this happened to you before? Did Twitter help? I'm seriously freaking out here!
I'm sorry to hear this and hopefully it gets resolved quickly. I haven't had to deal with this issue. I don't remember signing up if during the process Twitter ever asked for you to have and answer personal questions. If so that's one more step in verying yourself or at least this blog with your gfc followrs and etc. should prove you are the true owner of the Twitter account if it's associated with the blog.
I'm sorry to hear that! I hate to read this kind of stuff :( What's going on with all these people? Is it possible that you clicked on a link you got on twitter? I receive a lot of texts likes "OMG look at this picture I've found *link*!" and if you click on any of those links, they can hack your twitter.
Did you get it back? You "retweeted" something an hour ago. It's a harmless RT, another blogger promoting a giveaway. I wish they resolve it soon for you.
That does not make sense, they should be able to save your account. Twitter is a big company, so for them not to go out of their way to do so is quiet disappointing.

ReplyDeleteThey pretty much said that they don't change passwords or emails for people, so I think there is little they will do for me :(

ReplyDeleteI didn't click a thing so I'm not sure how it happened. Crossing my fingers they will help!

ReplyDeleteNot yet, I didn't retweet it :( Twitter has yet to respond to me. I don't think the account will be saved, I'm pretty bummed!
DeleteThis happened to me last year. Instead of waiting for twitter to help me with my acount I went ahead and made a new account.
ReplyDeleteOh dear :( It never happened to me before but I hope you'll be able to get it fixed. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI have not had this happen. I hope it gets worked out for you soon. I would also begin a new account.

ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare! I can't believe that someone would do such a thing. Boo to Twitter for not helping!
