It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a fun weekly meme, hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey. It's a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well.
From Anji:
What I finished last: The last book I finished was The Kitchen Shrink by Dee DeTarsio. You can see my review for it here. I loved it!
What I'm reading: Right now I'm reading a couple of books. Sort of. I'm reading Stupid and Contagious by Caprice Crane, and I'm reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender on the Kindle app on my iPhone. I'm not far enough into either of them to give much of an opinion. Stupid and Contagious looks like it'll be funny. Caprice Crane is constantly cracking me up with her Facebook status updates, and I'm sure it'll be a quick read. I'm hoping to have it finished in a couple of days, max, but with a 7 month old learning to crawl, we'll see how likely that is. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake is one I've been wanting to read for a while. You'd think that with it being so easily accessibly on my iPhone, I'd read it more often, but I'm not much of an e-reader fan, so it takes a little while for me to get into a Kindle book, and I'm still stuck on page 5. This book has been on my TBR list for a while now, though, so I need to get to reading it.
What's up next: I plan to read The Ninth Wife by Amy Stolls next. I won it as a LibraryThing Early Reviewer and I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I love books about relationships and secrets, so I'm hopeful that I'll enjoy it. Up after that is Sweet Jiminy by Kristen Gore. The plot reminds me of The Improper Life of Bezellia Grove, though, and I'm hoping it's better than that. I also won this book from LibraryThing.
From Tiffany:
What I finished last: I finally read Beauty Queens by Libba Bray last week. I should have a review up for it later this week :)
What I'm reading: For the first time ever, I am actually reading what everyone else is reading: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. It is rare that I actually buy a book the first week of it's release, but I had to have this one. I'm not far into it yet, but it is already good. I can't wait to see where it goes!
What's up next: Honesty, I have no clue. I am a mood reader so I only know what I am going to read when it is time to go stare at the bookshelf for an hour and pick something out. I have a ton of books waiting for me to read them and it is always a struggle choosing between them. I will just have to wait and see what peeks my interest!
I, too, have The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake on some list.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your week of reading.
ReplyDeleteI want to read The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. I guess it was a pretty normal week of reading for me. Please come see what I've read.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of any of these. For some reason I find it hard to read with the kindle app too. Although Stanza's worst in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI have The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake sitting on my shelf - hoping to get to it one of these days! Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteStop by my It's Monday post if you get a chance.
I have just picked up Beauty Queens at the bookstore and a I won a copy of Mara Dyer. They look interesting! Great books!
