Hey there! Welcome to Book Cover Justice! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out our blog. Book Cover Justice was created by two sisters, Tiffany (me) and Anji, because we can't get enough of all things books and wanted to share our passion with other book lovers.
Let's get to know each other, shall we? Here are some random facts about me:
* I have two amazingly awesome kids who are massive balls of energy and come up with some pretty hilarious stuff. They are in constant motion and are always asking a million questions. You may think I am exaggerating here, but I promise you that I am not. Ask anyone within a five mile radius.
* I love books. I love to read them, buy them and yes, even smell them. I recently took over my husband's art room to house my rather large book collection (he wasn't using it enough anyway lol).
* I play a mean game of badminton. It is the only "sport" I am any good at. I am so good that the husband has taken to calling me The Demasculator. I can't say that I don't like that name.
* I became obsessed with books around age eight after reading The BFG by Roald Dahl and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I still haven't finished the complete Narnia series, but I am working on it.
* Since I am a stay at home mom, I have a lot of time during the day to spend doing my favorite activities: reading, sleeping, roaming the internet and watching a ridiculous amount of crime tv.
* I am obsessed with Criminal Justice. So obsessed that I went to school for it because I honestly loved learning about it. I am also quite addicted to crime shows and you can usually find about 10-20 episodes of 20/20, I Survived, or Dateline on my DVR. Yes, I know I have a problem.
* I read almost everything, but I am so in love with YA dystopian right now I could marry it. Ok, I'd settle for just Peeta ::swoon::
* I am severely shy. Maybe one of the shiest people you will ever meet. Well, you probably won't meet me in person because just the thought of a social gathering with strangers is enough to give me a panic attack and heartburn for a week. Sadly, I'm not kidding. I'm working on it, though.
* I often find myself staring out the window for ridiculous amounts of time waiting for the UPS man to come with goodies and take it personal when he doesn't show. I know this isn't normal, but I'm pretty sure we have already established that I am anything but.
* I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the blogging community and can't wait to talk books (and other randomness) with all of you. I hope you will come back and visit us often.
Anyway, that's me. Now let's hear about you...
* I have three amazing and awesome kids of my own. I thought I was done having kids when my son was 14 and my daughter was 10, but we were surprised with another little girl this year and couldn't be more thrilled. She's a tiny bit (read: really really) crazy, but really... nothing less could be expected in this family.
* I love books, too... but I don't want them in my house! I keep a small (and growing) stack of books I want to read, but as soon as I'm finished, I want them out of the house! I don't like to read anything twice, unless it shocks me when I'm reading it and I have to go back and see how the hell I missed whatever it was I missed. That's only happened once. Anything else I've reread (not counting Goodnight Moon) is because I forgot I read it the first time around, and I'm sure I spent the whole second time through it going "I swear this sounds familiar..."
* Unlike Tiffany, I suck at badminton. I am, however, undefeated at air hockey since the early 1990's... ;)
* I completely love corny comedy. Here is an example of a haiku that made me laugh for days on end:
Haiku can be fun
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator
* I love my DVR and hate that they've cancelled All My Children (although I still have a few episodes left to watch), I design crochet patterns (check out Little Nugget Crochet!) I'm random-blogging bits of whatever (www.anjibeane.blogspot.com), I suck at writing things about myself, and I am constantly craving a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato... and I could really go for one right about now.
Thanks for checking us out! Keep coming back and visiting!
To be honest, though I've been following Book Cover Justice fora couple of months, I've never looked back into the archive for a post like this. Glad to know both of you a bit better, and I look forward to reading your future posts c:
