Whew! My first 12 hours have come to an end. Technically it is Saturday now, but since I got a late start I figured I'd keep going through the rest of the night.
What I accomplished:
Pages 1-375 = DONE!
I have to say that this book was AWESOME!!! With all the books on my shelves screaming for attention, I am so glad I went with this one. It was exactly what I needed today. Even if I hadn't been taking part in this read-a-thon, I think I still would have stayed in my chair until I was finished with this. It's that good! Hopefully I can get my review up sometime next week. So even though I only read the one book, I still feel pretty great about it considering I had to stop a ton of times. Some of my distractions today included:
- Children- why they can't take care of themselves is beyond me. Just because I am their mother it doesn't mean I should have to feed them, bathe them or play with them, right? Juuuuusttttt Kiiiidddding... I love my crazy kids!
- The Olympics! Had to stop a few times to watch some swimming. Gotta love that Phelps!
- Girl Talk - With five kids between the two of us, it's hard to find time to squeeze in some girl talk with my bestie. But tonight was a rare occasion and we finally had the chance to yap on the phone for a good 45 minutes. I don't regret it!
- Food- A girl's gotta eat! And this lucky girl was very fortunate to have a loving husband who brought home chinese food for dinner. Chicken fingers and books, what a great combination!
So that is my day in a nutshell. My other 12 hours for the read-a-thon comes up on Sunday and my goal is:
I got this one way back in January when it came out and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. Everyone and their mother has already read it and loved it and even though there are other books calling my name who demand attention, I need to know what all the hubbub is with this one. It will also be my first John Green book, so double win!
Check back in for my updates on Sunday!
Congrats! I also only finished one book(I was aiming for 2) so no biggie. Happy reading on Sunday!
