I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but my husband is an artist. He writes, draws and publishes his own comic books. Even though they aren't "huge", he still loves every minute of it. Recently the husband and I were having a discussion on my reading habits. Yes, I read a lot. I know this. Somehow this conversation took a turn into a challenge. He asked me if I think I could read one whole book before he could draw, ink and color one page. "Oh hells yes" I said. Then he said something really stupid: he challenged me to a reading contest.
From now until August 1st, I get one point for every book I read and he gets one point for every page he finishes. Because he has a full time job and I have no job outside the house, he will also get credit for half pages and for the weekly editorial cartoon that he does for a newspaper. Whoever has the most points by August 1st wins $100 to spend at the book store or the comic book store.
I've already read three books, and have another twenty or so scheduled for review over the summer. So not only will those books count towards my score, but so will any other books I am able to read before August.
I am so going to win.
So what do you think? Do you think I am going to crush him or do you think it will be easier for him to whip out these pages faster than I can turn mine?
Crush him!!! haha, jk
ReplyDeleteBut, in all seriousness, you can do it! Sounds like a lot of fun! Good luck!
That sounds like an interesting challenge, with you each competing by doing something different that you're good at. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow!That's a great challenge. Hope you'll win! *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteEither way, both of you will have a win-win situation because you'll accomplish more because of the challenge. Goodluck to you! :))
