I'm not sure what you've already read, but Percy Jackson is great, there's also Helen of Troy by Margaret George and Troy by Adele Geras.

Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid series is excellent. Start with Hounded, and if you like audio, the narrator (Luke Daniels) is fabulous.

I love this giveaway! Hands down, Percy Jackson series is my favorite mythology series.

You should read the Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. It's not based on a myth, but has a pretty spectacular Parthenon.

I would not recommend Mortal Coils by Eric ____ (can't remember his last name) - it was just way too complex and slow, and the characters were not very engaging - it is not a good thing when you are hoping the main protagonist would just die from her own stupidity.

I haven't read many, but Wake by Amanda Hocking was good. Also, I've heard great things about Everneath by Brodi Ashton, The Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep, and Darkness Becomes Her & A Beautiful Evil by Kelly Keaton.

ReplyDeleteI have not read much from this genre and most of the books I know are still on my TBR list but Sword of the Rightful King by, Jane Yolen is pretty good.

DeleteThis book is also really good. It is part of a Science Fiction Fantasy series but this book contains Irish myths and legends. I have not finished the series but this book was the best of the 6 I have read.
