First things first, I lost half a pound this week, yay! It isn't as much as I hoped, but as long as I am going down and not up then that is ok with me! Ok, a few things I want to talk about this week.
Exercise:
Nutrisystem recommends that we do three daily exercise activities for at least ten minutes each. This is a struggle for me because not only am I sick every morning thanks to my lovely medicine, but I am also very low on energy. Thankfully though I have my very own elliptical machine here in my office and I do my best to use it everyday. This week we also went out and did one of my ultimate favorite exercise choices: bowling! Monday night is $1 bowling night and we try to go as often as possible. We went this week and man did it do a number on me. My back and arm have been sore for two days, but I guess that just means it worked :)
Diabetes:
I know I talk about it every week, but I have Type II Diabetes. I started the Nutrisystem program in hopes of not only losing weight but also to help with the diabetes. Nutrisystem has a special meal plan just for those with the disease. Every three months I have a check up with my doctor and have my sugar levels checked. The last time I went was back in November, the very same day I started Nutrisystem. I was very excited to learn this time that my A1C had dropped .7 points! That is huge! Not only is this awesome, but up until November I had been on a medication that I took via shot once a week. But due to insurance issues, I had to stop taking it. I was positive that my levels were going to go crazy high without this medication but I was wrong. That only means one thing: Nutrisystem works! Nutrisystem's specially formulated food not only helped keep my levels from getting out of control, but they helped lower them too. That's amazing!
I can't wait to get back to the doctor again in three months and see how much lower my levels went again. Sadly, I only have a little longer left on the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program so I have to work extra hard. I wish I hadn't started this new medication at the same time so I wouldn't wake up sick every morning. I can only imagine how much better I would be doing if that were the case.
So what's my goal for next week?
I'm setting a goal of at least a full pound next week. I'm going to do my best to fight through this crappy feeling in the morning and maybe even get an extra round of exercise in :)
Remember to stop by next week for Week 9's results!
Huge thanks to Meredith Bandy and Nutrisystem for giving me the opportunity to take part in their program!
