Hello 2013, Goodbye 2012

Is it just me, or is anyone else starting to feel really old? Eh, it's probably just me, because I am old. My little brother turns 30 this year and I am just not having it. Anyway, I hope everyone had a fun (and safe!) New Year's Eve. Are you all recovering from a reading hangover, or the other kind?

2012 was an alright year, but I'm looking forward to a new start. In 2012, I decided to take on a ton of reading challenges. Guess how many I actually accomplished? Yup, that would be zero. I didn't realize how stressful it is trying to read a certain amount of books and reviewing them all. I like to read what I want, when I want. So this year I am skipping all those challenges. I'm just going to focus on getting through my ridiculously high TBR pile. I have way too many books and they just keep coming and coming. I need a serious crack down. I have a few review books lined up over the next two months, but for the most part I am going to concentrate on the books I already own.

What about you? What are your bookish goals for the year? Did you set any or are you just going to wing it like me? Either way, I wish you all a very Happy New Year filled with more books than you could ever dream of!

  1. Happy New Year, Tiff!
And I'm the same as you - this year I want to concentrate on all those books I haven't read in 2012. I'll try to read more of my own books instead of reading review books all the time. :)

  3. The only challenge I accomplished this year was an amended reading goal of 100 books and I got to 104. The book goal this year is 105 and then I have a couple of other challenges listed on my challenges page on my blog, but nothing super formal though. There's too much pressure trying to keep up with them all that it's just easier to keep them simple.

  4. Happy New Year, Tiffany. My goal is also to focus on the books sitting on my shelf that I bought myself. These regularly get pushed down due to review books.
