Huge thanks to Beauty and the Bookshelf!

Yay, I'm back! Did you miss me? Of course you did :) I am finally back to blogging after taking the week off to hang with family and my kids who were on vacation this week. And I just saw that I passed 2,000 GFC followers, HOLY CRAP! That's insane! Looks like another giveaway is in order.

So how was every one's holiday? I hope it was wonderful and relaxing and that you all received a TON of books. As you can see, I did! My husband surprised me with a pretty sweet gift card so I did some serious shopping. I managed to score 11 books with it. Add that to the four books I had received from my stepmother and I think I made out pretty well.

While I did enjoy sitting on my butt all week, I'm happy to be back. I have a ton of things to catch up on and some more reviews to write. So things should be pretty busy over the next week or two.

So, how about you? Did you score any books this last week? Leave me a link to your goodie bag and I'll come check it out!

The Best of 2012 Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the Best of 2012 Giveaway Hop, hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer. This hop runs from December 27th-31st.

For this hop, one lucky winner will be able to choose ONE book from the list below. These are my favorite books of the year, each one bringing me many hours of utter devotion to its pages and lack of sleep. To learn more about each book, click on their book covers to be taken to their Goodreads page. This giveaway is open INT, you are eligible to win as long as The Book Depository ships free to your country (check HERE). So what are you waiting for? Just fill out the handy dandy Rafflecopter and make your way down the linky!

Your Choices:

Please understand that my decision to include One Breath Away in this list was not an easy one. While I absolutely loved this book, it was a hard decision based on the subject matter and the horrible tragedy that took place just recently. I ultimately decided to keep it as an option because I don't want the horrible actions of one mentally unstable man to change the way we think or live, or even the books we read.

On My Wish List (64)

On My Wish List is a fun weekly event hosted by Workaday Reads and runs every Saturday. It's where we list all the books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

Title: Delicate
Author: Steph Campbell
Publication Date: July 17, 2012

Synopsis:

Sydney Pierce has just met the guy of her dreams…just don’t tell her psycho boyfriend, Trevor.

With a gorgeous boyfriend, a thriving gymnastics career and a stellar academic record, anyone would assume that Sydney has it all. That's precisely what the seventeen-year-old perfectionist wants you to believe, and she works hard to keep up the pretense. Especially now that there are cameras following her for a documentary on Olympic hopefuls.

When Grant, the charming new student, disrupts her carefully crafted routine, the cracks beneath her perfect facade begin to rise to the surface and despite Trevor's objections to their friendship, she can't stay away from him.

As her connection to Grant pulls her closer to him, the once lighthearted relationship with Trevor takes an intense and dark turn, forcing her into a position in which not only her happiness, but her safety is at stake. Can Sydney learn to let go of everything she is clinging to in order to gain everything she has ever wanted, or will she realize her breaking point too late?

I came across this book via another blogger's wish list not too long ago and I had to add it to mine. Psycho boyfriend? Sign me up! I'm still feeling the Olympic love from this year's games, so I'm looking forward to reading about that aspect of the story too. Basically, it just looks like a kickass read :)

What about you? What is your heart's desire this week? Leave me a link in the comments and I'll come check it out!

Weigh Me Wednesday: My Journey with Nutrisystem (#NSNation #spon)- Week 4

Welcome to week 4 of Weigh Me Wednesday: My Journey with Nurtrisystem! As a Nutrisytem Nation Blogger Program member, I am on the Women's Diabetes Select Program!

First of all, sorry I am a day late posting my results for this week. Christmas is just around the corner and I have been doing some last minute frantic shopping trying to get everything done in time for our first family visit this weekend.

So I didn't lose the two pounds I was hoping to lose, but I did lose 1! Woohoo! I know it isn't a lot but like I said before, slow and steady wins the race and as long as I am making my way towards my goal weight then that is ok with me!

I tried a new meal this week:

While I still haven't found a dinner to top the Flat bread Pizza, I did like this one. My hardest problem when deciding on meals is that I'm pretty picky. Unlike my husband who can eat just about anything, I have a very hard time finding foods that I like. Then when I do, I tend to eat them every day and after a while I don't like them anymore. So this week I made an effort to try a few of the other dinners. I think I'll be adding this one to my list :)

I've also managed to get in some great exercise this week! Monday nights are dollar bowling nights so we took the kids to play a few rounds. We played for about two hours and it was so much fun. I was a little sore later, but it was worth it. I also spent a good six hours walking the mall and other stores this week so I'm feeling pretty good!

What are my goals for next week?

This coming weekend might be a bit of a struggle for me since we are having three separate Christmas dinners, but I am going to do my best to limit myself and make good choices. I'm also going to throw in some extra exercises to work it off. My children are also on vacation so I'm hoping to challenge them to some extra Wii Fit Plus time and some Just Dance! I've decided that I no longer care if I look like a fool playing the dance games, the reward is worth it. I'm making my goal for the next week to lose at least two more pounds!

I'd also like to thank everyone who left me encouraging words last week. You have no idea how much it means to me to have a support system for those times where I may not achieve as much as I'd have liked.

I'm so thankful to be on this Nutrisystem program. While my weight is a big concern for me, my diabetes is an even bigger one. I want to be here for my children as long as possible and I know that Nutrisystem can help me reach my goal weight as well as keep my diabetes under control.

Remember to stop by next Wednesday for Week Three's results!

Huge thanks to Meredith Bandy and Nutrisystem for giving me the opportunity to take part in their program!
