On My Wish List (57)

On My Wish List is a fun weekly event hosted by Workaday Reads and runs every Saturday. It's where we list all the books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

Title: What Happens Next
Author: Colleen Clayton
Publication Date: October 9, 2012

From Goodreads:

How can you talk about something you can’t remember?

Before the ski trip, sixteen-year-old Cassidy “Sid” Murphy was a cheerleader (at the bottom of the pyramid, but still...), a straight-A student, and a member of a solid trio of best friends. When she ends up on a ski lift next to handsome local college boy, Dax Windsor, she’s thrilled; but Dax takes everything from Sid—including a lock of her perfect red curls—and she can’t remember any of it.

Back home and unable to relate to her old friends, Sid drops her college prep classes and takes up residence in the A/V room with only Corey “The Living Stoner” Livingston for company. But as she gets to know Corey (slacker, baker, total dreamboat), Sid finds someone who truly makes her happy. Now, if she can just shake the nightmares and those few extra pounds, everything will be perfect... or so she thinks.

I was recently forced to make a decision that no book lover ever wants to make: you walk into a book store with limited funds and there are more books you want than you can pay for. What do you do? Well unfortunately, you have to really weigh your options. This happened to me last week and What Happens Next was one of the books in the running for purchase. But I honestly hadn't heard or read much about it so I went in another direction. So here it is on my wish list still, waiting for me to go back and pick it up and bring it home with me for good. I love the cover, and I love amnesia stories! So I'm bumping this up to the top of my to-buy list, unless of course I can win a copy :)

What about you? What is your heart's desire this week? Leave me a link in the comments and I will come check it out!

  2. I probably would have put it down too and check the reviews. The synopsis sounds a little vague.

  3. I am so intrigued by this book; can't wait to read it! I've also kinda pushed it back in favor of other books, but I definitely am moving it up my TBR list :)

  4. That happens a lot, doesn't it? Two weeks back I walked into a bookstore and couldn't decide on what I wanted, so I picked Night Calypso. The book's good but I kind of regret it. Anyway this books sounds nice, well worth a look into.
