Waiting On Wednesday (54)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Requiem
Author: Lauren Oliver
Expected Publication Date: March 5, 2013

From Goodreads:

Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.
After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.

One of the hardest things about book series is having to wait for the next one to be released. Most of the time I can handle it, but of all the books in this world, this is #1 on my "I might die if I don't read this book right now!" list. This is my second favorite series, coming in a very close second to The Hunger Games, and I am freakin' DYING to know what is going to happen between Lena and Alex. Who will she choose? What is happening with Hana? I SERIOUSLY NEED TO KNOW RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!

What about you? Is there a book that you are desperate to read? Leave me a link and I'll come check it out!

  1. I've heard so many great things about the Delierum series, but I've been a little hesitant to pick it up because it sounds like Matched. A book that I did NOT like! But I'll have to reconsider! This sounds like a really good series! :D

  4. I've heard a lot of hype about this series, but I am still on the fence about it. I think it's more of a "borrow from a friend" kind of book for me.

  5. I've read Delirium and absolutely loved it, but I'm terrified to pick up Pandemonium! Since I've read the synopsis with Julian in it, I don't want to, because Delirium had such a heart-breaking, bitter-sweet (read: sad enough for me to bawl my eyes out) ending and I really don't want to ruin that beautiful feeling. So in conclusion, I really don't want to read it and have a sudden hate-on for Julian, a character I don't even know or feel like "LENA!!! GIVE YOUR HEART BACK TO ALEX!!!"
