On My Wish List (55)
On My Wish List is a fun weekly event hosted by Workaday Reads and runs every Saturday. It's where we list all the books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.
Title: The Opposite of Love
Author: Julie Buxbaum
Publication Date: February 5, 2008
From Goodreads:
When successful attorney Emily Hexby abruptly ends her happy relationship as her boyfriend is on the verge of proposing, she can't explain why. But deep down she knows the breakup stems from a sense of emptiness she can't control. As the holiday season looms, her world begins to unravel: Her beloved grandfather falls ill, her job becomes unbearable, and her father grows distant when she needs him the most. Emily realizes she must stand down the elements of her life that are leading her into a tailspin in order to become the person she's always wanted to be.
This is another one of those books that made it onto my wish list while on a desperate search for it. I had just read Julie's other book, After You, and was blown away. I absolutely LOVED that book. I hadn't heard of her before so I had no idea that she had another book out there. I immediately put this on my list and was waiting for a copy to become available on Swap.com. Then I stopped trading and forgot about it completely. Hopefully I will find a copy now and finally be able to read it. And if you haven't read After You, do it now! It's SO GOOD.
Sounds like an emotional contemporary read. Hope you find it easily.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of the author and After You but this seems a good one. Hopefully I can find a copy too!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book with a real plot! It seems like most books these days have very fluffy plots.
